Korean e-sports star Lee Sang-hyeok, also known as Faker, said Thursday he is confident about a proposed match between his League of Legends (LoL) team T1 and Elon Musk's artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Grok next year. "It is positive that AI and big tech companies are showing interest in the gaming industry," Lee said at a press conference in Seoul. "Chess has already been conquered by AI, but I believe we can win the match next year." Last month, Musk announced on X that he plans to organize a match in 2026 between Grok 5, an AI model developed by his company xAI, and T1, after the Korean team won this year's LoL World Championship, calling T1 "the best human LoL team." T1 responded positively to the proposal, posting "We are ready" alongside a photo of Lee.
